Legal
Terms and Conditions
Please read these carefully. They apply to everyone who downloads, installs or uses IAM4Hosts, on the free edition or with a Premium licence.
Last updated 3 November 2026
The short version
- You are in control, and you are responsible. The software suspends and removes hosting accounts according to the settings you choose. You decide whether those actions run, and you are responsible for them.
- Keep backups. You must keep your own backups of every hosting account so you can restore any account that is removed, including one wrongly detected as inactive.
- All sales are final. Premium licences are not refundable, in whole or in part.
- Support is by ticket, for Premium licence holders. The free edition has no support.
- The software is provided "as is", and our liability is limited as set out below.
This summary is for convenience only; the full terms below are what apply.
1. Who we are
IAM4Hosts ("the Software") is made by Web Dev Heroes Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales ("we", "us", "our"). You can contact us through the client area.
"You" means the person or business that downloads, installs, uses or buys a licence for the Software. If you accept these terms on behalf of a business, you confirm you have authority to bind it.
2. Agreeing to these terms
By downloading, installing or using the Software, or by placing an order, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not download, install or use the Software.
The Software is intended for businesses that provide web hosting. You confirm that you are acting for the purposes of your trade, business or profession and not as a consumer.
3. What the Software does
The Software checks public DNS records for the hosting accounts on your server and, according to your settings, lists accounts it considers inactive, sends notices, and (with a Premium licence) suspends and permanently removes those accounts.
You acknowledge that:
- the Software decides whether an account is inactive only from DNS records and the settings you choose, and it can be wrong, for example because of DNS changes, outages, caching, third-party services, misconfiguration or defects in the Software;
- removal is permanent: removing an account deletes its files, databases and email from your server;
- you choose the lifecycle timings and whether automatic suspension and automatic removal are switched on, and every suspension and removal is carried out on your instruction.
4. Your responsibilities
You are solely responsible for how you configure and use the Software and for the results. In particular you must:
- Keep complete, regular, tested backups of every hosting account on every server where the Software is installed, held separately from that server, so that you can restore any account that is suspended or removed, including an account incorrectly detected as inactive. We cannot restore any account or data.
- Allow enough time between suspension and removal. We strongly recommend at least 30 days, so that your customers have time to contact you if an account is still in use.
- Review the accounts the Software lists, the reason given for each, and the dates of each next step, and use Keep for any account that must not be suspended or removed.
- Make sure your server's IP addresses, nameservers, trusted nameservers, excluded owners and other settings are correct.
- Make sure your use of the Software, including suspending and removing accounts, complies with your agreements with your own customers and resellers and with all laws that apply to you, including data protection law.
- Deal with your own customers and resellers. The Software sends notices to resellers, never to end customers; contacting and supporting your customers is your responsibility.
- Keep your server, control panel and the Software up to date and secure.
5. Licence to use the Software
Free edition. We grant you a non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and use the free edition on any number of servers. The free edition detects inactive accounts, lists the oldest 10 and notifies the resellers who own them; it does not suspend or remove accounts.
Premium licence. A Premium licence is for one server, identified by the IP address given when ordering, for the period paid for. It enables the full lifecycle, including automatic suspension and removal, for that server only. A licence may be moved to another server only by us, on request by support ticket.
You must not: copy, modify, reverse engineer, decompile or disassemble the Software except as the law expressly allows; remove or bypass the licence check or any other technical restriction; share, resell, sublicense or rent the Software or a licence; or use a licence on a server other than the one it was issued for.
The Software is licensed, not sold. We and our licensors keep all rights not expressly granted to you.
6. Orders, renewals and payment
- Premium licences are billed in advance at the price shown when you order, currently $49.99 per server, per year, plus any taxes that apply.
- Licences renew automatically for the same period unless you cancel before the renewal date in the client area.
- If a renewal is not paid, the licence is suspended and the Software runs as the free edition until it is paid. We may change prices for future renewal periods by telling you in advance.
7. No refunds: all sales are final
All sales are final. We do not offer refunds, money-back guarantees, credits or partial refunds, for any reason, including if you change your mind, stop using the Software, cancel part-way through a billing period, move or decommission a server, or are dissatisfied with the Software. You can install and evaluate the free edition before you buy.
A Premium licence is digital content supplied immediately. By placing an order you expressly request immediate supply and acknowledge that, to the extent any right to cancel would otherwise apply, you lose it once the licence is activated.
Cancelling a licence stops it renewing; it does not entitle you to a refund for any period already paid.
8. Support
Technical support, including reports of bugs such as an account detected as inactive while it is still in use, is provided only to holders of an active Premium licence, and only by support ticket through the client area. We do not provide support by phone or for the free edition. We will try to respond within a reasonable time but do not guarantee any response or resolution time, or that any issue will be fixed.
9. Licence checks, updates and availability
The Software contacts our licence server to check its licence. It sends the server's IP addresses, hostname, control panel and Software version; it does not send details of your customers or their accounts. If our licence server cannot be reached, a Premium server keeps working for a grace period and then runs as the free edition until the next successful check.
We may release updates, change or remove features, or discontinue the Software. Updates are never installed automatically; installing them is your decision and your responsibility. We do not guarantee that the licence server, the Software or our websites will be available at all times or free from errors.
10. No warranty
The Software is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranty of any kind. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we exclude all warranties, conditions and terms, whether express or implied by statute, common law or otherwise, including those of satisfactory quality, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and that the Software will be error-free or will correctly identify inactive or active accounts.
11. Limitation of liability
Nothing in these terms limits or excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot be limited or excluded by law.
Subject to that, to the fullest extent permitted by law:
- we are not liable for any loss of or damage to data, websites, email, databases or hosting accounts, including any account suspended or removed by the Software, whether or not it was correctly detected as inactive;
- we are not liable for any loss of profits, revenue, business, customers, contracts, goodwill or anticipated savings, for any claims made against you by your customers, resellers or anyone else, or for any indirect, special or consequential loss;
- you accept that you use the Software, and carry out any suspension or removal, entirely at your own risk, and that keeping backups and restoring accounts is your responsibility;
- our total liability to you for all claims arising out of or in connection with the Software or these terms, whether in contract, tort (including negligence), breach of statutory duty or otherwise, is limited to the amount you paid us for the Premium licence for the affected server in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim. If you use only the free edition, our total liability is limited to £10.
12. Indemnity
You will indemnify us, and keep us indemnified, against all claims, losses, damages, costs and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or in connection with your use of the Software, the suspension or removal of any hosting account on your servers, any claim by your customers or resellers, or your breach of these terms.
13. Ending the licence
You may stop using the Software and uninstall it at any time, and cancel a Premium licence in the client area. We may suspend or end your licence immediately if you breach these terms, including by bypassing the licence check, with no refund. When a licence ends, the Software runs as the free edition; uninstalling it is your responsibility. Sections 3, 4, 7, 10, 11, 12 and 15 continue to apply after a licence ends.
14. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The version on this page, with its date, applies. Continuing to use the Software or renewing a licence after a change means you accept the updated terms.
15. General
- These terms are the entire agreement between you and us about the Software and replace anything said or written before.
- If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest still applies.
- If we do not enforce a right straight away, we can still enforce it later.
- You may not transfer your rights under these terms without our written consent.
- These terms, and any dispute arising from them, are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction.
